A Favorite Stop in Manhattan, Kansas on the Way to Colorado ๐ŸŽจ

On the drive out to Colorado to watch my youngest son graduate college a year early, I stopped overnight in Manhattan, Kansas โ€” a town Iโ€™ve really grown to love every time I pass through.

There is just something about it that feels calm and welcoming. The downtown has that classic college town feel with coffee shops, local restaurants, tree lined streets, and people out walking around. After being in the car for hours, it is one of my favorite places to stop, stretch my legs, and slow down a little before continuing west.

I spent the evening walking around town, grabbing dinner, and just enjoying the slower pace for a few hours. Sometimes those overnight stops end up becoming part of the trip itself instead of just a place to sleep.

This stop felt especially meaningful knowing I was on my way to Colorado for such a big moment โ€” watching my son graduate college a year early. Proud mom emotions were definitely setting in already during this part of the drive.

I took a few photos while walking around that evening and wanted to share a little bit of this stop along the way because Manhattan continues to be one of my favorite places to stay during these western road trips.
