Menopause & Women's Health
This page is dedicated to women's health and Menopause - because we all go through it at one time or another.
And best to learn and survive together!
Menopause is the permanent end of menstruation and fertility, defined as occurring 12 months after your last menstrual period. You can start to transition into menopause as early as your mid-30s, with most women entering menopause in their 40s or 50s (the average age is 51 in the U.S.). For some, menopause comes earlier due to health conditions, including a history of eating disorders, cancer treatment or surgical removal of the ovaries.
Menopause & Mighty Maca Plus
Another Peruvian doctor, Hugo Malaspina, states that rather than hormone replacement therapy which introduces hormones from outside the body, Maca encourages the ovaries and other glands to produce the needed hormones.
"I have had perhaps 200 female patients whose perimenopausal and postmenopausal symptoms are alleviated by taking Maca.
I encourage women to start with Maca before menopause. It seems to help the endocrine system to stay in balance."
Dr. Malaspina has even found Maca to be effective at remedying the symptoms of hysterectomies: hot flashes, cold feet, depression, tachycardia, constipation and bone loss.
